2007 is an important year for the Selkirk Rex breed
as they have been promoted to Provisional Status with the GCCF from June
2007. This means they can now compete against one another in open classes
and win ICs . When 20 cats have won their 3 ICS ( all 3 have to have been
given by different judges) they can be put forward to receive Championship
status with the GCCF.
It is a very exciting year and 2007 has started well already
with Trueblu Jetranger and Trueblu Daring already having qualified as the first
two cats to get their required ICs. Amazolou Rikki Tikki Tavi is 3rd
to gain the required 3 Ics.
Tiggs ( Trueblu Rockabilly) gained his 3rd IC at
the Yorkshire Cat Club making him the 4th Cat to gain the 3 required ICs.
Tiggs also entered his 1st TICA show and gained
enough points for double Grand champion but unfortunately needed one more final
to be entitled to the title. Hopefully in 2008 he will manage a
final as he enters some more TICA shows.
